Out of Orbit — Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 August 2026

The short version. Out of Orbit has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. We never ask for your name, email, location or contacts. The only thing the game ever sends off your device is the initials you type into the high-score board, along with that run's score — and only if you choose to submit it.

This policy covers the Out of Orbit app for iPhone and iPad (com.bambaata.outoforbit) and the browser version at bambaata.com/out-of-orbit. The app is published by Frame 12, LLC.

What stays on your device

Game data is stored locally and never leaves your device:

StoredWhat it is
Saved runWhich world you reached, score, lives, power-ups
Lifetime statsTotal kills, vaults, best combo, wins — for the badges
Unlocked modesWhether you have finished the game
Score board copyThe last leaderboard downloaded, so it appears instantly

Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no account and no backup, so a deleted save cannot be restored by us.

What is sent, and only if you choose

When you finish a run with a qualifying score, the game offers to put you on a shared high-score board. If you enter initials and submit, four things are sent:

The board also records when the entry arrived, so the daily standings can be worked out. Nothing else accompanies it — no device identifier, no account, no location, no IP-based profile. If you skip the prompt, nothing is sent at all, and the game is fully playable without ever submitting a score.

Nothing identifies you unless you type something identifying, so please don't put your real name, email address or anything personal in that box.

Those entries are held in a private Google Sheet owned by Frame 12, LLC and served through a function hosted on Vercel. Google and Vercel process the data solely as our infrastructure providers.

What we do not do

Children

Out of Orbit is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, children included. The only user-supplied text is a short display name on the high-score board, which we ask you not to make personally identifying. If you believe a name identifying a child has been posted, email us and we will remove it.

Removing a score

Email support@bambaata.com with the name and approximate score and we will delete the entry. Because entries carry no account or identifier, please tell us enough to find the right row.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
